Easy Peasy Hummous

September 18th, 2011 § 0 comments

I eat hummous every day. It’s a staple item in our home!

SO EASY to make too. You can experiment with different flavours such as lemon & coriander, dehydrated red pepper, beetroot.

For a simple plain hummous…

INGREDIENTS:
200g chickpeas (soaked overnight or 2 -3 days to sprout)
25g sesame seeds
1 garlic clove
1 Medjool date
Squeeze of 1/3 lemon
1/4 tsp salt
1tsp pepper
50ml water

METHOD:
Soak the chickpeas overnight or for longer if you want to sprout them.
Grind the sesame seeds until they almost resemble tahini.
Add all ingredients to a blender.
Blend and blend and blend.
Keep blending, adding small amount of water as you go along if you think the mixture requires it.
Blend until desired consistency is achieved.
